Adams State sophomore Stephanie Cotter clocked 19:15.5 to win the women's 6-kilometer race and lead the Grizzles to a 23-87 victory over Grand Valley State at the NCAA Division 2 Championships at Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, Calif. Adams State swept the top three spots to equal the lowest score in Division 2 championship history, previously established by the 1999 Grizzlies team. Cotter, who ran the fastest time in NCAA Division 2 finals history, became the fifth women's individual winner for Adams State, including the first since Alicia Nelson in 2012, to equal Western State for the most female champions in Division 2 history.
